Design Versus Data

I think we are all having very similar problems. It seems that we have great content and information for our final projects, but we run into a block in the road when the servers don't do what we want. We all want our wiki's to be attractive and organized, but its hard! The easy part was collecting the data, and the more difficult part is trying to organize it in the way that we want it.
In reference to collecting data, I just realized I had this book called the "Call and Response Anthology", and it is perfect for my final project. It has various short stories, essays, and poetry written by the same group of women that my wiki is about. I am going to use this book as one of my main sources.
After I leave class today, one of my friends is going to come to my apartment to help me with my project. I think if I had someone with me while I am working on my project, I won't get distracted or discouraged and give up working on it. I don't know exactly what happens, but I sit down to work on the wiki, and I have these great ideas but something doesn't go the way I want and I get frustrated and give up. I know that if I have a plan to work on the project with someone, I will definitely get some work done.

I know what you mean- I feel like I have a lot of ideas, but I'm having trouble getting them down. I'm doing a blog, so entry ideas are really important. Sometimes I just feel like I need a way to organize my thoughts and stay focused- getting help while you work sounds like a good idea.

Seems like we're having the same trouble with our wikis and blogs that we have with writing any long paper ... so much info, now how do I arrange it, organize it, so it makes the best sense to my readers.

But it's different b/c with a paper we can always fall back on using an outline to organize our ideas, here's the beginning, middle, end, but in this wiki/blog project, we're not going to have an "end" b/c it's ongoing, never finished.

So how do we organize something that will never be finished? Is the design of the blog the introduction, every post the middle, but there's no end and never will be?

How can we end a wiki when we don't know what conclusion the ever-changing middle points to?

Interesting --and exciting -- dilemma for us writers...

There's something about working online that makes you require people around when we work on these projects. I'm usually super-reclusive when I'm writing a paper/story or any sort of project. However when I was doing this I was asking my roommates for feedback and sending emails to some of my friends for their ideas. What's up with wiki's?
